Terms of Service

Terms governing access to and use of Text Watermark Detector.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Text Watermark Detector, available at textwatermarkdetector.com, including its websites, applications, API, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes the organization.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms. You are responsible for accurate account information, all activity under your account, and keeping credentials and API keys secure. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You may not share, sell, transfer, or expose API keys except to authorized users and systems acting for you.

The Service

The Service checks text for supported provider-issued watermark and provenance signals. It does not determine whether text was written by a person or generated by artificial intelligence, and a result is not proof of authorship, originality, fraud, or misconduct.

Provider support and detection methods may change or be unavailable. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service and may impose technical limits to protect reliability and security.

Your content

You retain your rights in text and other material you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive right to process Your Content only as needed to operate, secure, and provide the Service.

You represent that you have all rights and permissions needed to submit Your Content and instruct us to process it. Do not submit personal, confidential, sensitive, classified, export-controlled, or regulated information unless you are authorized to do so and the Service is appropriate for that information.

Acceptable use

You may not:

  • violate any law or another person's rights;
  • access the Service without authorization or bypass authentication, rate limits, usage limits, or security controls;
  • probe, scan, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or introduce malicious code into the Service, except where applicable law expressly permits such activity;
  • use the Service to develop or improve a competing detection service through systematic scraping or extraction;
  • resell or sublicense the Service unless we agree in writing; or
  • use results to make high-impact decisions about a person without appropriate human review and independent evidence.

We may investigate suspected misuse and suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, users, or others.

Subscriptions, billing, and credits

Paid API plans renew automatically at the interval and price shown at checkout until cancelled. You authorize our payment provider to charge the applicable fees and taxes. Prices and plan limits may change prospectively with notice required by law.

Each successful initial or renewal payment starts a new allowance period. Unused requests do not carry over and expire at the end of the current period. Plan changes may change the available allowance without resetting usage. Cancelling stops future renewal but does not end access before the paid period expires. If payment is past due, remaining allowance may stay available during payment recovery, but a new allowance begins only after successful payment.

Except where required by law or expressly stated at purchase, fees are non-refundable and partial periods are not prorated. Refund requests and payment disputes may also be subject to the payment provider's terms.

Intellectual property

We and our licensors own the Service, including its software, design, documentation, trademarks, and other content, excluding Your Content. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose.

If you provide feedback, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to use it without restriction or compensation.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party services, including authentication, payment, hosting, analytics, monitoring, and potentially verification providers. Their services and terms may apply separately. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability. Detection results may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to rely on them.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Text Watermark Detector and its owners, affiliates, personnel, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption.

Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the Service during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD 100. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Text Watermark Detector and its owners, affiliates, personnel, and suppliers from claims, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from Your Content, your use or misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or another person's rights.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may manage or cancel a subscription through the developer application. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, fail to pay amounts due, or if required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including provisions concerning ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and disputes.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where the Service operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts with jurisdiction over the Service operator will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us and try to resolve the dispute informally.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post revised Terms with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required by law. Material changes apply prospectively. By continuing to use the Service after revised Terms take effect, you agree to them.
